FIND THE OLD PATH

October 05, 2015 · Lanre Oyeleke · 3 views

Jer 6:16 Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

Recently, I discovered that the world is returning to old ways of doing things especially in the world of fashion and medicine. When you look at what is trendy today, you'll agree with me that it is a repetition of the fashion that once existed. Also, the emphasis on the use of natural medicine is on the rise and even medical doctors recommend natural medicine.

If the world is trying to find the old path in fashion, medicine, etc, then something must be unique about things of old. The word of God is encouraging us to find the old path that is good. What is the old path the scripture is referring to? When you read through from Genesis to Revelation, the men of old have one thing in common- dedication and devotion to God.

We are in a generation that is in dire need of devoted and dedicated believers. Those that have God's word as the final authority in their lives, those that don't make decisions without asking the Spirit, those that are committed to the unity of the faith amongst believers breaking denominational barriers and promoting God's kingdom.

The old path is the way of total obedience and nothing more.
