Isaiah45: 13 I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the Lord of hosts.
The first time my eyes opened to this scripture was when Bishop David Oyedepo did an exposition on it in a minister's conference. I noticed that whoever God will use must be raised in righteousness, stay under divine direction, build up the ruins, free the captives without eyeing reward or prize.
The opposite of what is above is what we see so many leaders exhibit today. True leadership casts a vision as received by God, lead people from where they are to where they ought to be without eyeing reward. In Africa, the bane of our under development is greed and selfishness. A single person would embezzle what his fourth generation can't exhaust.
Let us have a rethink. God want to build a new breed of leaders in this generation. Those that won't mind criticism or self deprivation of certain benefits just to see the right thing. Leadership without nepotism, corruption, ethnicity and self-centredness. God wants to raise sons that will bring about change in politics, education, media&entertainment, etc.
Father, raise me as a true leader in my generation In Jesus name.
