Eph1:5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do. NLT
To adopt a child is not an easy decision especially in Africa. If after giving birth to your own kids, you still chose to adopt a child to train under your roof, people may call you foolish. One of the things they will tell you is to consider the threat such a child could pose to your real children in the future after your demise especially as regards inheritance matters.
God is not man. Christ is the first born of God and he bequeathed all things to him. Everything the father has is in care of Christ, yet God decided to adopt us into his own family so that we can be joint heirs with Christ. Praise the Lord!
We are beneficiaries of God's largesse and properties because we are now adopted and we have the right to whatever he owns just like Christ.
When God wanted to adopt us, he did something unusual. He used the blood of Christ to pay for our adoption. That's why Col1:12 made it clear that we received a transfer from darkness to light through Christ. The scriptures referred to christ as the first born amongst many brethren(Rom8:29),God sacrificed his first son so that we might be adopted sons and that's who we are.
