NOTHING TO BOAST ABOUT

November 26, 2014 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Rom3:27- Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. NLT

Many believers are yet to understand the basis for our salvation. We are not saved because we were good and perfect before we met Christ, we are saved by grace(unmerited favour) through faith. Eph2:6. God made it that way so that we won't have anything to boast about.

I have seen very nice unbelievers, most times I wonder why they aren't born again despite the numerous preachings they've heard but right within, I know it takes divine election, grace and inner workings of the Spirit to convict a man of sin before he can accept Christ. We are accepted by God because of faith expressed on the platform of grace.

When you see those that are languishing in sin, don't make a mockery of them or put up a holier-than-thou attitude, pray for them so that they can come to the knowledge of the saving Christ knowing that you did nothing 'special' to be saved or accepted by God.

Action point

CONFESSION: - Father thank you because my salvation isn't because of my perfection or goodness but because of your grace and mercy. Father, help me to intercede for unbelievers so that they can come to the knowledge of the saving Christ.
