DON'T BRING A CURSE ON YOURSELF

November 05, 2014 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Gal3:10- Anyone who tries to please God by obeying the law is under a curse. CEV

There are some Jews till date who believe that Christ hasn't come, they wait for the messiah to come on weekly basis and they are still addicted to the 'Torah'- those laws given by Moses. In fact, they are proud to be followers of Moses rather than Christ because they feel Christianity is too simple. They believe that if you want to please God, Moses must be followed strictly.

Some are trying to incorporate the old into the new, and that won't work. The old testament Mosaic laws are just a type and shadow of what was to come which we are now enjoying but not the real in itself. Someone may walk up to you and tell you that you are violating Sabbath law by going to work on saturday and going to church on sunday. We know that Sabbath was the 7th day in the old testament dedicated to worship.

In the new testament, Sabbath is a daily life style of worship centred on Christ, our Sabbath is no longer a day but everyday because we are now the circumcised people that worship God in the spirit. So when people try to obey the law that has been done away with, Paul said that they are under a curse.

Those that do not embrace grace will live under a curse. Trying to please God through the law binds but grace sets free.

Action point

CONFESSION: I embrace grace and not the law, I refuse to follow Moses, I choose to follow Christ my master. I'm redeemed from the curse of the law and my life is beautified by grace. Glory!
