Rom5:17-"...But Even greater is God's wonderful grace and his gift of righteousness, FOR ALL WHO RECEIVE IT WILL LIVE IN TRIUMPH OVER SIN AND DEATH through this one man, Jesus Christ.
Recently, I was reading Romans chapter 5
and I stumbled on verse 17 which caught my attention. I discovered that the purpose of grace and the gift of righteousness is for triumphant living over sin and death. The grace of God& the gift of righteousness should not be misconstrued as a licence to indulge in sin.
Grace is an empowerment to live right. The teaching of grace has to be properly understood in this light. God doesn't give grace that will make his children walk against his will. Our salvation is an entry into divine partnership with God. Paul knew that some believers misunderstood grace that was why he asked in Romans 6 if we should continue in sin for grace to abound?
The missing link in the era of the law was grace, despite the fact that the people under the law wanted to please God by obeying the law, grace wasn't available for them to do so. For a new testament believer, grace and the gift of righteousness has been made available for you to triumph over sin and death. Glory!
CONFESSION: I live under grace and not the law, sin is no longer my master. I choose to walk in the Spirit and live by the dictates of God's Spirit.
