*WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR*?

Genesis 37:15 *"...a man approached him and asked, “What are you looking for*?” ( TPT).

I am burdened about how God's people fall into the hands of phony preachers and prophets especially women. I am still trying to get an answer to why 8 out of 10 victims of false prophets are women.

As a pastor over people, It pains me deeply when some brethren share their ordeal in the hands of Satanic agents masquerading as prophets. Their immorality and financial dubiousness is second to none. It is the same story everywhere.

Any time I read the news, such stories are there. The surprising thing is that when the evils of these men are exposed, their followership increases instead of it to reduce. Then, some will rise in their defense for evils that the blind can see.

This phenomenon  reminds me of some scriptures. Though the context is about the anti Christ at the end of age but the truth in it applies  today. I'll love we examine them carefully.

II Thessalonians 2:9-11

[9] The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders

Meaning that signs and wonders is not only peculiar to God and his servants. Satan and servants can perform signs and wonders too. Primarily, your pursuit should not be  signs and wonders. Seek the kingdom, seek Christ, seek to know his word.

Never judge the genuiness of a preacher by the manifestations of miracles.

If he performs miracles but he is not an example of godliness, please, steer clear. Follow men who follow Christ.

[10] and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

The verse above tells us why people fall prey of these phony prophets and preachers: THEY DID NOT LOVE THE TRUTH.

You see, the moment you develop a spirit that hates the truth, you will fall into the hands of false preachers&prophets. The congregation of a false prophet is a congregation of men and women who hate the truth. Does this describe you?

[11] And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie

Though the context of the verse above refers to what will happen to the followers of the anti Christ yet I see it happening today subtly.

When people willingly choose a lie, God cannot help them. He'll leave them to swim in their delusion. Man is a free moral agent with the power to make his choice. God does not overide human will. He cannot force himself on men who have turned their backs against him willfully.

Dearest, build a solid understanding of God through his word. It is better to stay under men who are teaching the scriptures and living it. Men who are examples of godliness not just some performers.

Action Point:

Father, help me to love the truth and hate lies in the name of Jesus Christ.
