A brother told me I must restitute all my wrongs. He implied that is the assurance of my glorification. The burden of guilt was fired into me like an arrow. My spiritual system became confused and I lost my boldness to walk with a holy God.
Quickly, I began to doubt the efficacy of Christ's blood and his redemption. In a nutshell, I became depressed. Who on earth can restitute everything in his past? That is what I call, "Mission Impossible".
Another extreme you must avoid is attempting to restitute all your wrongs from your past life. That is practically impossible. Anyone who tries that is telling God the blood of Jesus is not enough.
Attempting to do that is another way of saying the death of Christ on the cross is not enough to atone for the sin of mankind. The thief on the cross did not attempt to restitute anything. He simply deferred his case to mercy.
Jesus told him, "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise" ( Lk 23:43). Jesus did not say "Restitute before you meet me in paradise".
Religious men won't give that thief a chance in paradise because he hadn't restituted. How possible was it for him to return all he stole? For those who stole meat in their mother's pot, how possible is it to return all the meats stolen after 40 years?
You cannot restitute all sins in your past. It is impossible. Restitution should only be done where possible. Let this truth sink into your spirit.
