OFFENSE RUINS

Matthew 11:6 *And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me*.”

Pastor Poju shared the story of a man who got offended with the company where he worked for not receiving promotion. He missed promotion twice so he decided to put in his resignation but he was counseled against it. He wanted to pursue a line of business he felt he could do claiming he heard God.

He took that counsel and stayed there. Another company wanted to engage his company for an audit but they couldn't pay the amount that they charged. His boss decided he would look for someone who could help out with the work at a cheaper amount so he reached out to this man who wanted to resign earlier. When the man evaluated what the other company wanted to do, he charged them in millions and they paid him. He was shocked because what they paid him could never be realized in decades even If he was promoted as desired.

He did the audit, delivered it and it was from there he got established doing that kind of audit for companies. He abandoned the other line of business he wanted to pursue earlier. It became glaring he wanted to take his earlier decision out of offense not out of God's leading as he had thought earlier. If he had left that company offended, he would have missed that opportunity.

Offense can make a man leave the.place where God has planted him thereby walking out of God's will. Offense can make you break relationship with people who mean well for you. I have seen people walk away from profitable relationships because of offense. The power offense wields over people is so strong to the extent that they can do the right thing the wrong way. We must master how to handle offenses especially with people God has planted in our lives. Listen, good people will offend you. That doesn't make them bad. It is just one of those human tendencies.

In John 21:27, Peter became offended at the repeated question of Jesus yet the same man led the early church in its formative years and was used mightily as an apostle to the Jews. What do you think would have happened If Peter walked out on Jesus because of offense? Maybe he would have lost his place in the apostolic ministry.

There are preachers who got offended at their superiors in ministry or with the system where they were working. Out of offense, they resigned claiming God spoke to them whereas it was a demon they heard. It is dangerous to start a ministry that way, unfortunately, that is how some started thinking God was behind it. That accounts for why many are struggling.

Offense can make a man say "thus saith the Lord" yet it is Satan that is speaking. Offense corrupts the prophetic and perverts divine channels of communication.

If a preacher is offended, he may use the truth to wound instead of using it to heal.

This is what happens when people choose to become critical of everything in the body of Christ. They pick on every unnecessary thing, talk about it  publicly and magnify it beyond proportion. They deviate from their message and hunt for the errors of those they are offended with. This is a deviation from God's order.

There is no guarantee that offense won't come but we must learn how to master offense without getting offended and to quickly resolve issues with people and systems. This is what mature people who understands destiny do.

Dearest, run from offense, it ruins. When there is so much good for you in a place, thing or relationship, Satan introduces offense to derail you from it.
Beware!

Action Point:

Father, help me. May offense not rule over my decisions and destiny in Jesus name.
