Marital restitution is about the hardest and most controversial in the body of Christ. Several churches have their policies as regards this but one thing I know is that If we stay with the word of God and do not go beyond the written word of God, we'll have peace and everything will fall in place.

I have given the first reason a polygamist should restitute- If he is called into the ministry. It is a vital and important reason that must not be ignored If the polygamist will have an enduring ministry.

Remember the two case studies I shared. One restituted and had an enduring ministry, the other failed to restitute and his ministry collspsed.

#2. When led by the Spirit of God

The bible says, "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God"( Romans8:14).

Even If the polygamist is not called into the ministry, he can still restitute If led by the Spirit of God for his Christian testimony/ witness to be effective.

There are instances where a man that is not called into ministry may receive a leading to restitute his marriage. Yes, it is possible. We cannot rule out the personal dealings of God in a man's life.

I know a woman who left her marriage because she was not the first wife. She intruded into another woman's home. She met the Lord and encountered this truth. On her own, she left that marriage and became devoted to the Lord.

She took her children along with her. Today,  all her children are  married and she has remained devoted to the Lord. She lives happy with a conscience devoid of offence and guilt because she is no longer the source of another woman's pain.

Of a truth, no woman wants her husband to marry a second or third wife. Even unbelieving women don't want it let alone believers. If a second or third wife gets convicted by the Spirit to exit the marriage where she intruded, so be it. God has called us to be peaceful with all men.

In my opinion, one reason I think God may lead polygamist to restitute is to strengthen the witness of that person. Witnessing the gospel may be ineffective as a polygamist.

Every believer is not called the into five fold ministry but everyone is called to be a witness of the gospel.

It must be noted that marital restitution is subject to God's dealings in the life of the individual not something to be forced or mandated.
