TICKING TIME BOMB

When something is described as a ticking time bomb, we mean that it is likely to have a serious damaging effect on a person or situation at a later date. Every man or woman on a mission in destiny must draw lessons from the lives of those that have gone ahead in contemporary times and in bible days. Apostle Paul said, "These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age",1Cor10:11. Let's examine Samson. I want you to view Samson as a deliverance minister that was called into deliverance ministry with strange anointing for the miraculous. His destiny was announced to his parents by an angel and the don'ts attached to his life were stated clearly from the onset. He was a Nazirite whose hair must not be shaved. That was a token of his consecration to God's service. God already told him what he must guard jealously so as to preserve his ministry, Judges 13. However, there was a ticking time bomb in the life of Samson that eventually led to his downfall, lust for strange women was it, Judges 14,15. We often think that his meeting with Delilah( the lady that brought him down) was spontaneous but if you take your time to read preceding chapters, you'll notice that Samson had been messing around with ladies before meeting Delilah. He was sexually immoral.

The devil noticed the ticking time bomb in Samson's life. He took his time to search for a woman that will detonate the bomb at the right time. Eventually, he found a faithful servant in Delilah. Dear minister of the gospel, it is wise to discover that ticking time bomb now and prayerfully deflagrate it with watchfulness. These ticking time bombs are works of the flesh that we have refused to sever from our lives. We grew with it and has gained root in our lives. These ticking time bombs may not stop your rising in ministry but will surely bring you down after reaching a lofty height. At the prime of life and at the rising of the sun of glory upon a man's life and ministry, that is when the ticking time bomb explodes; you cannot afford to fail in this regard. David's ticking time bomb of lust brought shame and disgrace to him and his family despite being a man after God's heart. Judas' ticking time bomb of greed drove him to hell on a fast lane. I have observed from scriptures and real life happenings that the devil doesn't use strange desires to bring men down. He uses that carnal craving that has been nurtured and pampered over the years to cause a downfall. Apostle Paul said, "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live",Rom8:13.

Don't pamper that sinful craving that comes often. That's the ticking time bomb that may detonate very soon. That sinful craving won't stop you from rising because the goal is to allow you become great, popular and then bring you down never to rise or be accepted again. Now that you're not popular and your ministry haven't gone global, your mistakes may not be amplified but the moment you become a house hold name, the ticking time bomb may turn your fame to shame. Today, I want you to pray this Psalm into your life, "Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life", Psalms 139:23‭-‬24 NLT.
