1 Cor15:3 I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. NLT
I wasn't privileged to run in a relay race while in secondary school but I've watched several relay races where batons were passed from one sprinter to the other. Relay race is not complete until the last sprinter receives the baton. In every relay race, the most important thing is the baton. If a sprinter run to the finish line without the baton, such race is null despite coming first. Apostle Paul talked about a message that was passed to him which he passed to others. In fact, he said what he passed to others was most important. That is the message of Christ's death.
The realities of redemption were activated when Christ died and resurrected. In 1Cor15:7, Paul said, "And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is a delusion and you are still lost in your sins" GNT. The death of Christ brought us eternal salvation and now we can confidently say we belong to Christ and we have the hope of reigning with Christ in heaven. As you go round preaching to the lost, tell the world about the purpose of Christ's death. There wouldn't have been salvation or full forgiveness if Christ hadn't died. The shedding of his blood brought forgiveness to us.
Eph1:17 says, "In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace", Hallelujah! The world is seeking God's forgiveness through rituals and religious piety. Hey! That will amount to nothing. Sometimes ago, I watched the video of a young man that went to the Ganges river to bathe so that his sins might be forgiven. All religious rituals done to earn God's forgiveness and favour will end the moment they understand the benefit of his death.The message about the wonders of his death is what you should pass on like a baton. The benefit of Christ's death is part of the good news that we must preach to the lost. Pass it on.
CONFESSION: Father, I thank you because my salvation was made possible because of Christ's death. I thank you because I'm an heir of the father and joint heirs with the son. I receive grace to pass this message on those that need to hear it in Jesus name. Amen
