Philippians 2:9-10 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
A pastor once gave me an orange. He told me had prayed on it so i should drink the orange for my life to be better. Trust me, i threw it away. I was discussing with some people recently about how and why the name of Jesus Christ is supreme in getting anything we want from God. We live in days where people have faith in consecrated objects than the name of Jesus Christ. I was told about some people who have several anointing oils for different purpose in their house. They have labels on it and now they've idolized it. The small idol some are worshipping is one special mantle that was prayed on by one big pastor.
The mentality of some people is that in the case of emergency, they'll have to rush to where their anointing oil is or their mantle. Most of these people have forgotten that the name of Jesus is enough to settle all of life's challenges. If you're one of those people who believe God can't do anything except without a special oil or mantle, what would happen if there's an emergency where you couldn't reach for your oil or mantle? God is trying to teach us to have faith in Him whenever we call the name of Jesus and as such, our emphasis should be on the power in the name of Jesus.
Have i said we shouldn't use anointing oil or mantle? No, i haven't said so. My point is that the name of Jesus in our mouth is superior to anything and God doesn't want us to idolize materials. We only use those things as contact point. Most Africans from idolatrous background believe in the use of objects, substance or rituals to reach God. Some preachers also preach with this mindset forgetting that it takes only faith( in the name of Jesus) to please God and get results. Start building your faith in the name of Jesus only. It works everywhere and anytime. It is a tower of refuge for the believer, Prov18:10.
In the name of Jesus, i decree(...mention issues).
