MARITAL CRISIS(A)
All over the world, marriages are crashing. It was reported that in the United States, there is one divorce approximately every 36 seconds. That's nearly 2,400 divorces per day, 16,800 divorces per week and 876,000 divorces a year. Isn't that shocking? The report further stated that the average length of a first marriage that ends in divorce is 8 years. The probability of a first marriage ending in separation or divorce in the first 5 years is 20% and in 10 years is 33%. The average age for couples going through divorce is 30 years old.
This research was done in the U.S.alone. I'm very sure that if we have reports from other countries, the statistics would be staggering. It points to one thing, the devil is working hard to turn husbands against their wives, make love to be sour and ultimately scatter homes so that God's purpose won't be fulfilled here on earth. The family unit is so important to God and the hordes of hell knows. The reality of this century is that most marriages hardly last and a few staying in marriage are living like rats and cats but that is not God's will for you.
If all couples obey the biblical injunction to love and submit, our homes will stand. The word of God is complete and it is God's solution for the problem of this age. When we talk about love as the bible taught us, it is unconditional. It has nothing to do with how we feel but doing the right thing to our spouse even when it seems she doesn't deserve it. That's how Christ loved the church- it unconditional, Eph5:25. On the other hand, submission should be without condition, Eph5:22. We live in the age of crusade for women Liberation but God didn't put women in bondage. Submission is not a sign of weakness, it is a divinely designed role for wives.
Look at areas where you're defaulting in your biblical marital responsibilities and make necessary marital adjustment.
