Matthew1:21 And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt call his name Jesus; for it is he that shall save his people from their sins.
RELIGION AND THE PROBLEM OF SIN
I did a careful study on what the major challenges of this present world are. I discovered that topmost on the list is the problem of sin. Right from after the fall, the problem of sin and how to solve it has been an issue. In Romans3:23, the bible says that we all have sinned and have fallen short of God's glory. King David exposed it better in Psalm51:5 by saying, "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me". The same applies to us all. Every one of us was conceived and born in sin.
By nature, the unregenerated man is sinful because it is inherent in him. We inherited sin from Adam, Rom5:14. Ever since, man has been trying to solve this problem of sin so religion was invented but religion has failed. I watched a short video of the Hindu festival that hold at the ganges in India. Over 80million people come from different parts of India to the ganges river to wash their sins away with the water. Thats what religion is doing today. Some have invented methods of asking for forgiveness and seeking salvation through man-made methods yet it just didn't work out.
Dearest, Jesus is the answer to the sin problem. His mission on earth was to save the world from sin by shedding his blood on the cross once and for all, Heb7:27. No matter how hard you try to solve the sin problem, without Jesus you'll fail. With Jesus in your life, grace is made available to you to live above sin, Rom6:14 and you'll receive the power to become the son of God, John1:12. This has nothing to do with religion. Heavenly father, i have been trying to solve the sin problem without Jesus. Today, i accept Jesus into my life and confess him as my Lord and personal saviour. Thank you for saving me. Amen
