1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world
A prophet approached one of my associates in ministry. He gave him accurate word of knowledge and he himself knew that what the prophet said was true. However, he was scripturally sound enough to know that he should discard such a prophet and his predictions because the same prophet consults for 'yahoo' boys in his neighbourhood and his ministry is heavily sponsored by them. I saw the cathedral his church is building courtesy 'yahoo' boys and i must say that it is massive. The source of his accurate prophecies are questionable because the fruit of his ministry doesn't align with scriptures.
Some immature believers may be freaked by the accuracy of his prophetic declarations. Such people may say that "If his prophecies are accurate, then it must be God". I have heard this narrative severally and It gives me concern. The girl that Paul and Silas met in Acts 16 prophesied accurately yet Paul knew that the source of her prophecies was demonic. Paul should have said "that accuracy is a confirmation or it can only be from God" but Apostle Paul was too sensitive to allow a demoniac speak about him. He dealt with the spirit immediately.
Don't let the so called 'prophetic accuracy' carry you away. Check the source through the word and observe the fruit of the prophet. A prophet once questioned why he was accused of womanizing. He told his congregation that since his prophecies still come to pass, no one should be bothered about him. That's a time-bomb waiting to explode. The devil through familiar spirits can speak through people and be accurate. Someone walked into a prophetic church and God opened her eyes to see snakes on the altar. That's the spirit of divination at work. That spirit is working tirelessly this end time. God is not concerned about proofs, results and physical manifestations as much as He is about the source.
Father, I refuse to be deceived In Jesus name.
