Hebrews 5:8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered. NIV
CHARACTER REFINERY(C)
Sometimes, we do not pay attention to the sufferings of Jesus Christ as we should. The idea of his suffering we have is the suffering on the cross but that's just the height of it but not all. For Christ to leave His glory to take the form of a man is a form of suffering on its own. I am very sure that most of us would have declined to come to the earth to redeem mankind if we had lived in heaven and tasted of her glory.
For a man like me that have seen two sides of life, i'll rather choose to stay in heaven than come to the earth let alone Nigeria but the bible said He( Christ) left His glory, He took the form of a man, Phil2:7. Can you imagine what His growing years were like? Probably, his mother treated him like a child, gave him instructions on where to play, where to go, what to eat and when to eat. For a man like Jesus Christ who was God Himself, that's suffering yet the bible said He learnt obedience through what He suffered.
God's purpose for allowing suffering is not to kill you but to refine your character. Jesus couldn't offer eternal salvation not until he passed through those sufferings. Read what Hebrews2:10 said about Jesus: God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation. NLT. What God has designed to perfect you before you can become an agent of perfection for others is not always a palatable experience. Submit.
Father, make me the man you want me to be In Jesus name.
