Psalms143:10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground (NIV).
I have read the book of Psalms severally and I must tell you that it has become a special devotional book for me.
Out of the several prayers prayed by David in Psalms, I found his prayer in Psalms 143:10 important especially when confused about what the perfect will of God is.
Every true child of God should have a desire to do God's will. The word of God is the will of God written for men in all ages.
However, there are certain things that are not directly written in the word. For example, the name of the country you should travel to, the job offer to accept, the name of the husband or wife that you should marry is not in the bible.
Though the bible contains principles and guidelines for the choices we may want to make. However, certain specifics are not there.
Yet, God doesn't want us to do things our way because the moment we begin to do things our way, we may veer off the path designed for us.
Sometimes, we want to do God's will but we do not know what it is exactly and how to go about it. That's where confusion sets in. I have been there severally.
You and I need to pray the Psalmist prayer often: "Teach me to do your will, for you are my God". Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truths( John16:33).
The Spirit of God knows the will of God and he is our empowerment to do God's will.
Be rest assured that God is working in you to do his will and good pleasure daily( Phil2:13). Your duty is to surrender to the Holy Spirit.
Father, teach me to do your will today and for the rest of my life in Jesus name. Amen
