WHAT GUILT AND CONDEMNATION WILL DO TO YOU

April 03, 2023 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

John8:10- Jesus straightened up and asked her, "woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"...No one sir, she said. " Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin.

I once shared the story of a preacher who committed adultery. He didn't forgive himself. He wallowed in guilt and self condemnation. He had a dream where someone told him that he was infected with HIV.

When he woke up, his sorrows multiplied and he turned skin&bones over time. He stopped going to church because he felt unworthy of God's presence.

The church pastorate came visiting. He told them about his sinful act and how someone told him in the dream that he was infected with HIV.

Someone amongst the Pastors asked If he confirmed his infection from the laboratory. He said no. His blood sample was taken to the laboratory and he was found to be negative.

Someone may say God punished him with those thoughts and dream. That wouldn't be God. The purpose of Christ's coming is to restore and lead men to repentance not to make them wallow in guilt and condemnation.

We must understand the nature of God especially as regards sinners and the backsliden. God is restoration-conscious more than he is condemnation-conscious.

Till now, many do not understand the difference between the Spirit's conviction and devil's condemnation.

When the Spirit of God convicts you about sin, he points you to what is wrong and shows you biblical ways of making ammends.

Condemnation and guilt on the other hand is Satan's tool to keep you in self-pity, blame and regret instead of repentance and onward progress in your walk with God.

Whenever you're under the wave of condemnation and guilt, Satan will make you doubt God's mercy and the cleansing power in the blood of Jesus Christ. He will torment you with thoughts and fear.

In fact, Satan will tell you forgiveness is not so cheap. He will tell you you're irredeemable and can't be forgiven. This is the reason some persons have decided to continue in sin because a demon told them they're irredeemable.

If you've erred, don't sit there and mourn your woes, repent and continue running the race diligently. Just put your faith in these scriptures and do not doubt God's grace and mercy:

“Come now, let’s settle this,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool.(Isaiah 1:18 NLT)

“I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again (Isa 43:25).

And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins(Hebrews 8:12 NLT)

Meditate on these scriptures, personalize and confess them.

The devil will try to remind you about some of your mistakes from time to time, don't listen to his voice of condemnation.

Action point

I rebuke every spirit of condemnation torturing my heart and I receive mental&emotional healing In Jesus name.
