Colossians 4:17 And say to Archippus, “Be sure to carry out the ministry the Lord gave you.” NLT.
BE PATIENT WITH GOD FOR GROWTH
Recently, I read about a pastor who decided to commit suicide because his church was not growing. Nothing seems to be working in his ministry so he decided to commit suicide.
This kind of feeling is what made some persons to cut corners in ministry because they have waited for long doing the right thing but nothing is happening.
No thanks to social media. The media has a way of amplifying what people are doing in an unrealistic manner. There is a way to snap pictures to make it look as If there's a crowd in church.
The pastor of a small church who is consistent with God may think he is not doing enough seeing the growth of another church that started yesterday.
This may cause a watering down and lowering of standards just to achieve rapid growth. Beware of that trap of "rapid" growth. In ministry, whatever will last doesn't happen rapidly.
You have to be patient with God to learn the ropes and be part of the process. God uses time to process us in ministry to make us better, fit and prepared for his assignment.
Do not put yourself under pressure to populate and perform. Follow the process steadily and do not look at another man's farmyard. If God blesses the work of others, thank God for them and rejoice with them but run your race steadily.
Do not yourself under pressure because of another man's progress. Pressure leads to competition. Once you start competing, you'll veer off into another man's race. Run your race patiently.
Having done all you need to do, please be patient with God for growth and increase. Your current phase does not necessarily mean you are lazy or not doing the right thing. It is just a phase.
Dear minister, please be patient with God
