When I was in my final year, I located a school where the parents of some primary school pupils couldn't afford to pay N120 per term as exam fee. The state govt declared free education but the exam fee was mandatory which was just a token.
I was touched and I had to tell the brethren that God wants us to rescue some poor people around us. We gathered contributions from brethren and paid all the bills. If we wanted to take charge of their early morning assembly and start a discipleship class in that school, the head master would oblige us.
God loves it when you meet the needs of poor people. God has a special reservation in his heart for the poor and that is why those that oppress the poor won't go scot-free. Don't always think you're disadvantaged, when you get to the community of the disadvantaged, you'll cry.
- If you want heaven to listen to your cry very fast, don't neglect the poor. Let some poor folks live happily because of you.
