HOW TO TREAT YOUR SPIRITUAL HEADS

July 01, 2014 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

1Thes5:12-13"...honor those who are your leaders in the Lord's work...show them great respect and wholehearted love because of their work..."

A business man met a respected man of God in a gathering, he saw it as an opportunity to be a blessing. Immediately, he reached into his purse to get $10,000. The man of God just spoke a few words into his business and he had a boom.

It is a great responsibility to be a minister in God's vineyard, it is an exalted office that God holds dear to his heart. I consider the office of a preacher greater than the office of the president of any country. Our duty as followers is to honour them(with our substance), show them great respect(within the confines and limits of the scriptures) and love them wholeheartedly(even when they are wrong because they are prone to errors even more than us).

Old testament believers know this too well, that is why whenever they want to go visit a prophet, they try to take a gift along(no matter how small) just to bless God's servant. As a reader of today's devotional, not all preachers are fake and don't let public opinion about preachers becloud your sense of judgement and rob you of your blessing.
