TEST THAT PROPHECY-DONT SCOFF AT IT

July 04, 2014 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

1Thes5:20-"Do not scoff at prophecies...but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good.

I once read about someone who prophesied and said "...even I the Lord, I'm afraid sometimes". The undiscerning believer may take that hook-line and sinker but from my bible, God cannot be afraid because he is almighty. I've also heard a sister prophesy, she said "I the Lord will visit the sins of the father on the Children even to the 4th generation". Ex20:5

That sounds scriptural but the fellow prophecying has forgotten that God also said." The soul who sins is the one who will die. The son WILL NOT SHARE THE GUILT OF THE FATHER, nor will the father share the guilt of the son...Ezek18:20, so the latter scripture nullifies the former.

This is how to judge prophecy, not every thus saith the Lord is from the Lord, use the Litmus test of the word to x-ray any prophecy.

The worst deception has always been in the area of marriage when a brother will claim to receive a sister by revelation and even sisters receiving brothers, the church has experienced earth quake in this area. God doesn't confuse people, arm yourself with God's word for accurate discernment.

Action point
  • The spirit of lies&deception is at work, beware of 'thus saith the Lord' not every of such is from the Lord.
