THE HALLMARK OF A SENSIBLE MAN

July 09, 2014 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Prov19:11 Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs. NLT

One day, I acted rashly and I exercised a little madness for a few minutes. I was driving just by the side of a moving truck, I was a few metres ahead of him, as I was about making a turn, he brushed my side mirror and I felt as if he brushed me. I didn't know where the anger came from, I alighted and walked up to him.

I was almost slapping him, he shouted at me and drove-off. I entered the car and chased him till I overtook and double-crossed him. I caused a major traffic that day, yet the guy didn't pay a dime for damages.

As I entered the car, I literarily felt God's presence left me, it was such a horrible experience because I acted irrationally not minding even if people would identify me as a preacher.

Only a man that can control his temper and overlook faults can be regarded as a sensible man. Hot-tempered people loose the presence of God very fast because anger saps spiritual energy.

Action point
  • Don't try to manage anger as many are preaching about anger management, submit to God for anger eradication in your life because anger can cost you the promise land, ask Moses.
