Romans 9:16- So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy.
By definition, mercy is compassion or forgiveness shown towards someone whom it is within one's power to punish or harm. God is all powerful&He can do whatever He likes with any of us, but he has chosen to save us.
To obtain mercy from man, you have to deserve it, but for God, you do not have to earn it. Its not about what you have or haven't done, it is a gift(Mathew 5:45).
The fact that you are alive to read this devotional is an indication of God's mercy upon your life. It is his mercy that saves and gives one the grace to continue in the faith.
Without mercy, you could have been that drunk on your street or even a terrorist. HE CHOSE YOU! The fact that you are living a sinless life is not based on your ability; rather it is it is his mercy that has empowered you.
Everything that you have and will ever have is as a result of his mercy. Remember that where you are now and the little you think you have is still someone else's prayer point.
Spend at least 15minutes, thanking God for his mercy.
