WISE OR FOOLISH?

September 20, 2013 · Lanre Oyeleke · 2 views

Matt 25:1-2;Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to 10 virgins who took their lamps & went out to meet the bridegroom. Now 5 of them were wise& 5 were foolish.

There are two groups of people in Christiandom, the wise& the foolish. The wise are those who know God's instructions& do them while the foolish are those who know God's instruction & refuse to do them (Matt7:24-27)

The first 5 virgins were called wise because they took oil in their lamps& they took extra oil for their eternal journey, while the foolish ones only took oil for their lamps but no extra.

The oil for their lamps can be referred to as the amount of God's word that they carried inside them (Ps119:105). The wise ones constantly knew enough of the word to help them in unforeseen circumstances while the foolish only thought of the present.

To be wise, you need to constantly refill your lamp with the oil of God's word for the journey ahead. Don't wait for trouble to come up or you will be at risk of losing out. Remember that God's word is God (John1:1).
