In recent times, I have read some articles that denies the operations of demons. Some of those who wrote these articles are trying to emphasize our victory in Christ which is validly true and superior to anyone's experience but in a bid to teach the victory of the cross, they deny certain realities taught in the bible.
The problem with this funny position is that the believer who thinks Satan is inactive and dormant will not see reasons to confront and enforce the victory of the cross over Satan when he is running rampart and doing his dirty dozens in their lives. Their spiritual senses will be dull to recognize him when he is at work.
Another problem with this position is that it put people in a state of ignorance about the operations of the enemy. In warfare, you cannot fight an enemy you are ignorant about. Scriptures told us about how victorious we are in Christ but it never denies demoniacal activities.
In 2 Corinthians 2:11, Paul says, "so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes"( NLT). This Pauline thought is very clear. By implication, when people are ignorant about the scheme of Satan, he will outsmart them.
Severally, I have seen Satan outsmart some believers. They are suffering needlessly. Some are victims of wrong teachings such as this. It pains me when all a people know is just mere confessions instead of the dynamics of enforcing the victory of the cross.
In spiritual warfare, we don't deny the existence of the enemy to enforce victory. No, it doesn't work that way. There is no where in the bible where the existence and operations of Satan and his minions were denied to prove a point
It would be bad theology to deny the activities of the enemy seeing the numerous challenges people face. Unfortunately, some pastors don't know how to help people faced with certain sordid realities. Secretly, some seek for help in Egypt or from those whom they once despised as ignorant of New Creation realities.
Looking at the rate of untimely deaths, wars, sicknesses without cure, oppression, drug addiction, perversion, negative family patterns that keep reoccuring in some families and several others evil that has plagued our world, you can't tell me Satan is inactive. He is actively destroying lives, families and ministries. You must not give him a chance in your life.
In Ephesians 6:12, Paul did not say Satan is inactive neither did he deny his work. Rather, he says, "For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places"( NLT).
Do not give Satan a chance in your life. Be sensitive to know when he is at work and stop him in his tracks standing on the knowledge of who you are in Christ. Don't deny his work and operations, address it in the name of Jesus. Recognize him for who he is and what he does and stop him. That is how to obtain victory. Don't pamper him.
