Isaiah45:13- I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, he shall let go my captives, NOT FOR PRICE NOR REWARD, saith the LORD of host.
Recently, I was privileged to meet a gifted prophet of God whom the Lord has been using for over three decades. He shared some of his experience with me in the ministry.
He has access to the high and mighty in the society because they come to him for prayers. While building his church, a state governor reached out to him that he will give him ten million naira. He was very happy.
Later at night, the Lord ministered to him asking why he wanted to collect an offering from that calibre of man. The Lord told him he is capable of finishing the building project. That was how he cut off from the man.
Dear minister, not every gift is for taking. As God's messenger, you must fight against mercantile spirit. We don't turn ministry to a merchandise. Invitation should not be for the highest bidder. It is absolutely wrong.
One of the peril the anointed will face is the temptation for gain. In ministry, you don't negotiate price before taking the microphone to minister to souls. It is the custom of some ministers today to give you a long list of what they want before they can accept your invite.
Some will raise seed-offering&cart away with it. This is where many gifted preachers, singers&teachers have missed it today. It unethical to raise funds and go away with it. Where did Jesus do that in the bible?
It should be noted that collecting honorarium is not a sin but when you make demands, there is no honour in that honourarium. Do not pay yourself, let God reward you.
God won't entrust into your hands true anointing If you're seeking material gains from those you want to bless. You are a messenger not a merchant.
- Father, I choose to do ministry not for price nor reward In Jesus Name.
