Pastor E.A.Adeboye told a story about an instruction he received from God just before the ministry experienced a rapid multiplication. God instructed him to keep thanking him for certain number of days.
As narrated by him, he was tempted to ask for his needs and that of the ministry but as soon as he remembered the instruction he received, he continued in thanksgiving for reason unknown to him. After that period of thanksgiving, the ministry experienced uncommon multiplication and growth.
I love Jesus. Reading through the gospels, He showed us certain principles that are heavenly but with earthly application. One of such is thanksgiving even when it doesn’t make sense.
I noticed that on two occasions when Jesus fed thousands of people, the resources needed were not sufficient. The scenario that played before he fed 5000 also played out before feeding 4000- insufficiency, (Matthew14:13-21, Mark8:1-8).
However, Jesus didn’t go into panic mode neither did he start a marathon fasting and prayer to change insufficiency. He simply gave thanks to God and multiplication of what was insufficient occurred. He understood the power of thanksgiving.
We do thanksgiving for many purposes but one scriptural thing to do during scarcity and insufficiency is to thank God. Most times, we only get to see people do thanksgiving in response to a miracle or breakthrough.
Jesus anticipated the miracle of multiplication and he thanked the father in advance. Boom! There was increase. Don’t wait for abundance before you thank God.
There’s so much in the store of heaven for those that know how to thank God even when it does not make sense. For me, it makes no sense to thank God when there’s no food to feed thousands of people but it sure made bible sense.
Are you expecting God to multiply the little in your hands? Start thanking God. Do not wait to see the miracle before thanking him, let it start now and it'll become reality soon.
