Psalms32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
While on campus, I decided to venture into bike transport business. As an enterprising young man, I made necessary enquiries and I reached a conclusion that the business was profitable.
I discussed my business plan with someone who could loan me the needed capital. He promised to give me the money as a gift. I was happy and I knew it was a done deal. However, I decided to pray about it asking the Lord If I should go ahead or not.
I didn't get any direct answer from God so I paused on the execution of my plans and the session closed. When I returned for a new session, I was shocked to see new buses bought by the school to transport students from hostels to the main campus.
I got the answer to my inquiry right there because I knew the bike transportation was not viable any longer. Most bike men complained that since the buses started operating in the school, business was not as it was. I got the answer to my enquiry from the circumstance that prevailed then.
Sometimes, when we ask the Lord to speak to us on certain issues, for reasons best to Him, he uses events and circumstances to bring clarity to our enquiry. We must be sensitive as events unfold to know the mind God.
When God uses events and circumstances to make His will known on a matter, it is not because he can't speak to us or give us a revelation. Oftentimes, I observe that the posture of our heart determines his dealings with us.
For instance, If God had told me not to venture into bike business, I may not have listened to him because I was enamored with the business idea. The only way He could convince me was to use event and circumstances.
From what I met on ground, I got the answer to my prayer of inquiry. I don't need any prophet or vision to tell me the new buses will throw the bike men out of business. It was visible to the blind. You need to be sensitive to God's leading by observing events and circumstances.
A brother who had been trusting God for life partner was transferred to a city he didn't want to live in. However, God knew that his future wife was in that city and there was no way they would meet unless they live in the same city. This brother met his wife in the city of his posting. After accepting his marriage proposal, his company returned him to base. Sometimes, God works that way. He is the master of events and circumstances.
The bible says, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delights in his way"(Psalms 37:23). God's love is unfathomable. He won't allow you enter into error IF you cooperate with him.
In His mercy, If He speaks and you're in doubt or you disobey, he may arrange a Jonah-like event to fix you where you belong.
Most times, when we try to influence events and circumstances, we distance ourselves from God's will. Do not lobby your way out of God's will.
If you've been praying for direction on a particular issue and it seems God is silent, be sensitive to the events and circumstances surrounding your life. The answer may be right there.
Father, I receive the grace to be sensitive and to cooperate with you in Jesus name.
