Hebrews 11:1 Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see( NLT).
Allow me to demonstrate the concept of faith using this lovely example. Imagine that the wealthiest individual on earth presents you with a cheque for $1 million dollars on a weekend when banks are closed, with the expectation that you will deposit it into your account once they reopen. Would you question the validity of this cheque?
I'm sure you will not because you know the person who gave you the cheque is worth more than the amount and is capable of giving more. Also, his signature on the cheque is authentic and that's enough to get the money out.
Even though you haven't gotten the cash physically in your hands or transferred the money to your bank account, in your mind, you believe without doubt that you are $1 million dollar richer.
In fact, you may start planning what to do with the money as though you have it. That is what faith in God is.
When you strongly believe what you have not seen because someone superior with a proven track record of integrity promised you those things, that is simply faith.
God's word is the promissory note that forms the basis of our believing even when we haven't seen what is promised. Faith in God's word is of great value to God. He is honoured when we trust Him and take Him at His word.
One line in our hymn says, "Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His word". Faith is taking God at His word saying "according to your word I believe".
The integrity of God is tied to His word. God doesn't deny His word. At every point in our lives, God want us to take Him at His word in prayer.
It should be noted that you don't need to see what is promised before believing, rather you believe before seeing what is promised. You act and talk as though you have it already even when your physical eyes haven't seen it. That's faith.
Faith is believing God's word, talking God's word and acting on God's word. Start believing God's word. God places value on a life of faith.
It takes faith to obey God. For example, God may be calling you to do great things for Him in the kingdom yet you may not have resources. Faith will launch out trusting God to bring needed resources for the task.
It is God's desire that faith becomes our lifestyle and not just a tool of solving problems when they arise. .
CONFESSION: My faith is activated by the Word. I live in the realm of possibilities. All things are working for me by Faith, I believe I have my anwers already in the name of Jesus.
