RESHAPED BY THE POTTER

Jeremiah 18:4 But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him ( NIV).

The prophet Jeremiah was dispatched to the potter's house to witness the skilled artisan's manipulation of clay. This occurred during a period when his ministry was at its lowest ebb, as Judah had abandoned their devotion to the Almighty and instead engaged in idolatry despite his preaching.

While observing the potter in his workshop, he witnessed a peculiar occurrence. As the potter worked with the clay, shaping it to his will, an unexpected event transpired - the clay became marred due to impurities within.

However, undeterred by this setback and with unwavering determination, the skilled craftsman continued to hold onto the flawed material and set out to mold it into a new form.

The Divine Creator assumes the role of a potter, while we mere mortals are akin to clay. Our shaping and molding is achieved via life's circumstances and hardships, which serve as the wheel in this grand design.

Nevertheless, like clay, one may encounter difficulties in conforming to the will of God. Upon perusing the text, I pondered over why the clay had become flawed in the hands of its potter.

Should the clay (representing oneself) resist being shaped by its potter (God), it may become marred. The presence of impurities within said clay may also result in marring; however, a silver lining exists - so long as the clay remains within its potter's hands, it can be remolded.

Despite any previous mistakes or struggles with the will of God, there is hope. Although you may have missed opportunities to connect with Him in the past and faced hardship, your current state does not define your potential for transformation.

As long as you remain under His guidance, you can be molded into a form that aligns with His desires. To achieve this transformation, it is essential to surrender yourself completely to God's plan and allow Him to work through you according to His own wisdom.

Embracing this mindset means relinquishing control over your life and trusting in divine guidance. It is wise to reach a point where resistance against God ceases entirely so that He can lead you towards becoming the person He intended for you to be.

Surrender yourself to God and be reshaped.
