PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR HEALTH

Eph5: 29 No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church. NLT

Heard about a young evangelist who died at the age of 29. On his death bed, he said, "God gave me a message and he gave me a horse. I damaged the horse and I couldn't deliver the message." The message he referred to was his ministry/ calling while the horse was his body. He died without fulfilling his ministry because he didn't take good care of his health.

In contemporary church history, some powerful healing ministers in America during the voice of healing days died very young. Their death was not because they weren't anointed but it was due to their failure to take good care of their health. So many believers have died cheaply while some are living in sickness because they neglected their health.

In this part of the world, we are fond of tagging every sickness as demonic attack. Yes, sickness is not of God( Acts10:38), but lack of wisdom on living healthy can cause sickness in the life of a believer. That has nothing to do with demons.

Some believers see anything medicinal as anti faith. Some have been taught that orthodox medicine is not of God and that using such is a way of saying God cannot heal. Some faith preachers have caused confusion in this area because of imbalanced interpretation of scriptures. So many believers have paid dearly for this.

Ignorance and foolishness has killed many more than demonic attack. A minister intentionally refused to take medications on his death bed. He spewed them out because he felt medicine was anti faith. He died there.

Taking good care of your health is a sign that shows you love yourself. I know you're trying to love your neighbour but you can express that love better if you're in good health.

How do you take good care of your health? Eat right, exercise your body, rest well, maintain personal hygiene, check your health status often and listen to your doctor's advice. Do not wait till there are symptoms of sickness before checking your health. Do not disregard medical advice.

My mentor told us about a preacher that fell while preaching, they resuscitated him. Instead of taking heed to medical advice not to climb the pulpit for sometime, he continued preaching as usual. He passed on after a week.

Dearest, I see you have a great life ahead. Don't die unfulfilled because of avoidable health issues. Prevention is better than cure.

Action point

Father, I receive wisdom on how to handle my health in Jesus name.
