START THE YEAR ON THE RIGHT FOOT Pt.9

BE MISSION MINDED (D)

Every company has a finance department. Imagine God's end time missions is also a company with several departments, there'll surely be a finance department that is open and available for God's children to function in. According to mission researchers, the annual Income of all Church members at the time they conducted their research was $51 trillion. Total income of Evangelical Christians annually is approximately $6.72 trillion. According to their research, it was reported that In 2001, only 1% of giving to "Missions" went to unreached - if that trend holds true today it would be $490 million. The estimated $490 million going toward unreached people group is only .001% of the $51 trillion Income of Christians. For every $100,000 that Christians make, they give $1 to the unreached. Evangelical Christians could provide all of the funds needed to plant a church in each of the 7,400 unreached people groups with only 0.03% of their income.

Though these facts were drawn from the American church but I'm sure the case is not so different all over the world. We cannot claim to be mission minded and soul loving if our finances is not involved. I don't know of any true missionary adventure that runs without adequate finances. Over the years, I've observed how Satan expands his kingdom and do his own dirty mission. He raises financiers who are ready to give their last until their goal is achieved. For example, terrorism is Satan's end time mission and it is a fully funded programme in trillion of dollars. How come terrorists have so much money to buy bombs, guns and even hold the government of nations to ransom yet some of our missionaries are barely struggling to take a village for Christ? Some people are funding that satanic audacity. What are you funding? If we truly love missions&evangelism, we'll put our money into it. I'm yet to see a man in love who doesn't spend except his love is fake. Do you love God's mission enough to give your finances?

Dearest, engage your finances in missions this year. Stop thinking field missionaries are jobless and lazy people who should find something else doing with their time. More often than not, such mentality comes from a heart that lacks understanding of the nature and terrain of missions especially in certain areas. No military man can succeed trying to live like a civilian at the same time. Paul said, "Who serves as a soldier at his own expense?...". The key to effectiveness is doing the work with full concentration while the church( you and me) give our support. Mission thought leaders said, "The Church has roughly 3,000 times the financial resources and 9,000 times the manpower needed to finish the Great Commission. If every evangelical gave 10% of their income to missions we could easily support 2 million new missionaries". If everyone can commit little here and there, we'll achieve much.
