POSTURES FOR DIVINE DIRECTION Pt.5

SHARPENING YOUR SENSITIVITY(A)

Back in the days, we used transistor radio device before digital radio emerge. For those who used the transistor radio, they tuned the radio with a knob till it aligned with the desired frequency for clarity. Sometimes, it requires a very careful setting/tuning because two radio frequencies can interfere as one may be hearing two stations on one single frequency. Often, skilled users of the transistor radio will painstakingly set the radio till reception becomes sharp and clear. That's akin to the way our spirit man works. The immaterial part of us known as spirit is what receives the leading of the Spirit. It requires some tuning or sharpening so that it can pick clearly divine signals and for it to operate at the frequency of heaven.

You can tune your spirit man to receive clearly from God. Attaining spiritual sensitivity is one of the major challenges most children of God have. They hear a cacophony of voices from within and are confused almost always. While the hand is a tool for setting the transistor radio till it attains the right frequency, the first tool for attaining spiritual sensitivity is the word of God. Often, many read/ study the word of God from a religious standpoint. They don't want to be caught( by friends and mentors) missing their private bible study in a day. That's fine but that shouldn't be the purpose of studying your bible. You should approach your daily study of the bible as a spiritual necessity for the survival of your spirit man. What food is to the body is what the word of God is to the spirit man.

The word of God has the power to tune our spirit man to operate at the frequency of heaven if we allow the word permeate our being. Thorough meditation and deliberate practice of the word attune us to hear clearly from God. Those that have not heard God from the pages of the scripture may never hear God when He speaks to their hearts. There's a nexus between the two. If you want your spiritual sensitivity to be sharp, don't give your flesh all the treatment it deserves at the expense of your spirit. You can't feed your flesh 3 times a day with good food for seven days in a week and feed your spirit man once a week and be sensitive. It is impossible. Bodily, some are like sumo wrestlers but in the spirit, they're Lilliputians. Start working towards building a strong spirit that can pick spiritual signals by paying attention to God's word daily.
