START THE YEAR ON THE RIGHT FOOT Pt.16

Ecclesiastes 7:11-12. Wisdom is as good as an inheritance. Yes, it is more excellent for those who see the sun. For wisdom is a defense, even as money is a defense; but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom preserves the life of him who has it.

ACQUIRE FINANCIAL EDUCATION(B)

In proper financial education, there are three M's of money you'll learn: Make, Manage& Multiply. Let's talk about the first 'M' which is to make money legally. I wouldn't have touched on this crucial topic on a normal day if not for the fact that the Holy Spirit impressed it upon my heart to do so. More so, many of God's children are caught in the web of unnecessary money problems that are avoidable. As I said in previous teaching, I'm not teaching this as a finance expert rather as a Christian counselor using bible sense to proffer solution to common problems.

In your quest for financial freedom, God is not against making money as long as the means is legal. Time tested ways and methods that God has set in motion for making money is work. It is either you're gainfully employed or self employed offering services to people. God hates idleness: "Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!...How long will you lie there, you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest.11 and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man", (Pro6:6,9-11). Some believers are fond of waiting for big jobs/businesses under the guise of faith. Whereas, great opportunities lies in doing small jobs well. The making of money is not tied to any other thing than work. Beware of "sudden breakthrough" promises. Go get a job and stop lazying around. Work doesn't kill, it refines. As believers, we must have healthy mindset on the issue of money or else we'll go the way of the world.

I've seen brethren involved involved in money doubling and betting/ gambling. That's a sign of ignorance and lack of proper financial education. I've never seen men or women who built lasting wealth through gambling or money doubling. True wealth is built gradually and it takes time. It is not sudden. Greed and covetousness wants it quick. Jesus said, "And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth", Luke12:15. Run from anything that promises money without diligent work this year. To make money, you have to work.
