RISKY DELEGATION

Romans8:14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Several years back, a woman told me about how a young banker was interested in marrying her daughter but the relationship crumbled. She desired their relationship end on the altar but she felt sad that everything crumbled. When she came to me, she wanted me to pray for the restoration of their courtship but I noticed some moves she had made weren't consistent with my theology. She printed this guy's picture from the internet and distributed it to several prophets who told her that this man was meant for her daughter. She brought the same picture to me so that I can have it in my custody for prayers but I declined with wisdom. I simply told her that I'll pray for God's will to be done. I called her daughter and prayed with her. However, I noticed that what gave her the boldness to come for prayers was because she had consulted wide(probably diviners) and they told her they were meant for each other. She wanted me to hear God for her to validate what others have said and to pray for restoration of their relationship.

One among several other things you should never delegate is hearing from God. Never try to delegate hearing from God about your life to people no matter how anointed and gifted. One of the things we often teach leaders and those that have responsibilities to handle is delegation of duty. This is something that all and sundry must know how to do to avoid collapsing under the weight of heavy workload. However, I discovered that there are certain things that are risky to delegate especially spiritual things that makes for growth and depth in God. One of the things spiritual babes do is to delegate hearing from God to prophets. They have delegated their duty of hearing from God to prophets. They consult prophets like the heathen do consult diviners. Unfortunately, they put those prophets under the pressure to perform so they manufacture "thus saith the Lord" from the blues. God may send a prophet/ any of his children to give you a message, but there must be a confirmation in your spirit about what is said. I don't act on instructions until I'm convinced personally that God is involved.

Don't take the risk of delegating hearing from God to prophets. They are not to be consulted like diviners. God is your father and He can speak to you as well. In life, one of the causes of regret after making a wrong decision is to discover that you'll d have made a better decision without the influence of what a prophet said. Some are biting their fingers in marriage now because their marriage was based on prophetic match-making. Ministry is another dangerous terrain to tread on this matter. As a minister, you can delegate many things to ease your workload, you can even delegate preaching as it is not even advisable you preach all the time but you should never delegate people to hear from God for you as touching the direction the church/ ministry should go. The devil sometimes uses lying prophets to derail people from His plans and purposes. Don't be lazy in the place of fellowship with God, He can speak to you.
