LIKE BULUS

2Cor4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

In one of the revivals in Northern Nigeria that happened in the 60s, it was recorded that a young man named Bulus volunteered to be part of a evangelical team for four weeks. He doesn't look like someone who should go for such a task so the leaders in charge rejected him. They said, "there is no where we can send you, they said." He pleaded by saying, 'Isn't there any place where no one else wants to go?' The leaders responded by telling him that behind the hills where the gospel had not yet gone was the only place no one had gone. May be they thought that would discourage him, this young man accepted the assignment. He trekked for two days before getting there. He preached in that place for four weeks with great suffering. The people refused to give him food so he fed on grasses and leaves but he never ceased to tell them about Christ.

One night, as he declared to them, 'I am the servant of the living God. I have come to tell you the truth from heaven', they brought a dying girl lying on a stretcher. They said, 'if you are the servant of God, then you must believe your God can heal. We want you to make this girl well.' He was stunned but he prayed by faith. The little girl sat up and asked for food. Everyone was amazed at the miracle. At the end of four weeks, 200 souls had turned to Christ through the ministry of this humble soul that was despised by his spiritual leaders. Bulus was a testament to the fact that there's no one God cannot use if they surrender to Him totally.

Dearest, maybe God is speaking to you to undertake an assignment but you have been despised by those who should encourage and support you. You may not have the qualification(educational) and even the outlook of a man that God will use. Maybe you're smallish in stature and you don't even have pulpit voice, you don't need to worry. Eliab had the stature but David carried the mantle and mandate. God doesn't look at those things before using us. They may have assigned you to seemingly impossible task just to discourage you like they did to Bulus, God requires just one thing from you, total surrender. There's no limit to how God can use a yielded vessel. The moment you get to that point in your heart where you're willing to go anywhere he leads and do whatever he bids you, you'll begin to operate in unusual dimensions of power and glory. A lot of people try to use fasting and prayer to command exploits in the kingdom, that's fine but without total surrender to God, there's a limit.

Action point

Father, I surrender my life to you totally, use me.
