1 Corinthians 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. KJV
WHAT GOD ENTRUSTED TO US- GIFTS.
I once received an invitation to preach several years ago. I was asked what my price was. I replied by telling the person who called that I don't charge to preach. I'm a steward of whatever grace or gift I carry. It is not something to be monetized but to be used for God's glory.
Many believers are walking on slippery grounds in matters of gifts, talents and endowment. Some are putting a price tag on what they received freely from God. Jesus said, "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!"( Matthew 10:8).
Your gifts, talents, skills are tools for kingdom advancement. Bezaleel was endowed with wisdom in all crafts. God entrusted him with that special ability.
“Look, I have specifically chosen Bezalel son of Uri, grandson of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts. He is a master craftsman, expert in working with gold, silver, and bronze. He is skilled in engraving and mounting gemstones and in carving wood. He is a master at every craft! Exodus 31:2-5 NLT
In subsequent verses, God made it clear to Moses that the purpose of that endowment upon Bezaleel and Oholiab was for the work( building) of the tabernacle, ark of covenant, utensils and other sacred items.
Why will you be so gifted and yet warm benches in church from Sunday to Sunday? It is a waste of endowments to look on while others are using theirs for God's glory. Don't let the devil hijack your gift for his use.
It is common knowledge that most entertainers started in church but left because they feel unappreciated or unrecognised. Flimsy excuse. We are in kingdom service for an audience of one not for the audience of the Pastor or church people.
It is poor understanding of stewardship of gifts that makes people abandon the use of their gifts in God's kingdom and switch their allegiance.
A steward will not seek the "appreciation" or recognition of Pastor or church folks. They're humans who will gift an account of their stewardship as well. You're playing for an audience of one not man.
Fight pride and that feeling of "I've arrived" especially when people begin to compliment you for your gifts. If not careful, instead of using the gift of God for kingdom service and to bring glory to God, it may become a tool for self glorification.
We are entrusted with gifts, talents and divine endowments. As trustees, we shall give God full account some day.
Father, I will not abuse the gifts you gave me in Jesus name
