HONOURING THE FATHERS

Proverbs 30: [11] There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. ... [17] The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.
Recently, I read the post of a lady who called out the ministry of an old minister of the Gospel on her wall. She bad mouthed the man's ministry for not understanding grace and being Mosaic in doctrines. She also had others who supported her act of dishonour. Most of her friends gave responses that were in the same line of thought as hers. This man didn't do anything that was untoward neither did he cross moral lines but because these set of people do not like his stand against sin and unrighteousness, they displayed folly with their comments. I wanted to give a counter response but I refrained because they won't understand since they've chosen to be blinded by their delusions.

Dearest, it is not a sign of being woke to call out and attack a genuine and preachers online because his teachings doesn't align with yours in certain areas. We must learn to disagree without being disagreeable. While I agree that we can refute teachings that are inimical to the body of Christ and correct doctrinal deviations or errors, but we should not pull down the person. No preacher is 100% perfect in doctrine. Much of what i see online is no longer correction of errors but attack against persons, expression of bile, and an attempt to pull preachers down*. Some think God will use them to lead another reformation that will birth a new order. That's the most delusional thought expressed by some. They want to wake up to hear that a church has packed up and ceases to exist because a new movement has come. They easily forget that a perfect church doesn't exist on earth. Our perfection will be fully realized when we see Him. The bible says in Colossians3:13 "Make allowance for each other's faults,...".

It is a sign of dishonour to always hunt for errors and mistakes of the fathers. While they may not have the depth of scriptural knowledge you have, they still have something working for them- depth of relationship with God. And that's basic. Don't join them to speak about the errors of God's servant. God has not assigned anyone to police his church. Be wise! I am in no way saying you should swallow every teaching hook line and sinker. That's not what I'm saying. Feel free to follow whatever God's word says if it doesn't align with the teachings of a church leader/ father. This should be done respectfully and honourably without pointing the attention of others to their faults. The way some go about hunting for errors is taking the shine off their life because they abandoned their real assignment. Shem and Japheth were blessed for covering their father's nakedness but the dishonourable action of Ham who made a mockery of his father's naked attracted a curse, Gen9:21-27. Don't join the gang of blind critics and mockers. They don't always turn out well.
