GENERATING POWER FOR YOUR CONFESSIONS

December 16, 2021 · Lanre Oyeleke · 4 views

Jude 1:20 But you, dear friends, must build each other up in your most holy faith, pray in the power of the Holy Spirit, NLT

There's so much emphasis about making positive or word based confession in the body of Christ in the past decades. There are numerous faith confession books and materials on the shelf with so many people using them religiously. Some do not even pray as led by the Spirit, they rely so much on faith confession materials. However, one need to ask why some have made confession a daily art but without result. Let's imagine a car without a battery, a remote without a battery or a lamp holder with a bulb that is not connected to a power source. What do you think will happen to a driver trying to start a car without a battery, or someone trying to use a remote control that doesn't have batteries or switching on a light that is not connected to the electric power source? I can imagine the kind of frustration that will result from that fruitless action.

That's what happen when we make confessions and our confessions aren't backed by the power that will make it happen. If the president of your country says, "all police men should set up a security check point for the next one week" and you an ordinary citizen comes to give a counter order saying, "all police men should stay in their stations for the next one week", please who do you think the police men will obey? It is the president. The president made a declaration like you did but his orders will be obeyed because the power vested on him drives whatever he says for prompt obedience. Yours is just a mere wish because it lacked power. Anyone can make any good confession, a number of persons make confession on daily basis but only a few are getting result. Have you ever asked why a simple line of prayer or confession is so powerful in the mouth of some persons but the long hours of confession seems ineffective in the mouth of others? The secret behind making your confession active and potent is to generate the power for its fulfilment by praying in the Holy Ghost. When you pray in the Spirit, you're taking the power within and bringing it upon for use.

One of the things you should not fail to do after praying in tongues for a long period of time is to make confessions. Why? You have generated the power to drive the fulfilment of whatever you say afterwards. Until you plug into the power source, your confessions may remain a wish. The power of the Holy Spirit is non negotiable in the life of a believer. Confession books are good but generating the power to make them come to pass in the place of prayer is much better. There was a generation that didn't have the luxury of topical confession books yet wrought terrible things in righteousness and got what they wanted from heaven because they understood that it takes power to drive home desires. As a new testament believer that is filled and baptized in the Spirit, empower your words by praying in the Spirit daily. That's where to generate the power that'll drive your confessions.

Action point
