WHAT IS FAITH?
Faith is believing God's word, speaking God's word and acting on God's word in the face of contrary circumstances. These three things are essential components of faith. What some people have is mental assent and they call it faith.
I have ministered severally to people who were trusting God for one thing or the other. Some received their desired results while others did not. Same applies to cases of healing and miracles.
I noticed it is easier ministering to those who understand the principles of faith and its dynamics. From my little experience, I think preachers should teach how faith works and how believers can receive from God with their word-based faith.
If you want to minister healing to people, preach faith along the lines of healing, you'll see results. As preachers, preach on what you want to see in the lives of your audience. That is how to stir faith in them.
Faith is not faith until it is rooted in God's word. The word of God is the source of the faith that works.
Virtually all that came to Jesus received their miracles or healing by faith. Jesus was fond of saying: "Be it unto you according to your faith" (Matt9:29). If faith wasn't important, Jesus wouldn't have stressed on it.
If you want to build your faith to become solid and strong, do not build it around 'things', people or mediums like water, mantles and anointing oil. When those mediums are absent, what will happen to you? Do not build it around your 'papa' or 'G.O.' but only on God's infallible and innerant word.
The psalmist says, "For ever, O LORD, Thy word Is settled in heaven" (Psalms119:89). The psalmist further says, "The words of the LORD are pure words: As silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times" (Psalms12:6). In essence, it means God's word has integrity. We can bank on God's word believing that God will perform whatever he says.
Apostle Peter says, "We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts"( 2 Pe.1.19.KJV). The word of God is a more sure word of prophecy that can strike out other negative prophecies concerning your life.
When you're faced with the challenges of life, search out relevant scriptures and begin to meditate on them till faith is built up in you like an edifice. Let those scriptures be your confession till it becomes your reality.
