Hebrews10:25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
FELLOWSHIP WITH GOD'S FAMILY
Have you met people who told you that church is in their heart and that they don't need to attend a church or belong to a denominational church before they can serve God?
Many of such people abound in our world today. They believe they can pray on their own and God will answer them. That's true but going to church is more than praying , it is for the purpose of fellowship. Simple!!!
Even Jesus Christ had a custom of going to the synagogue: "When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures"( Luke4:16 NLT).
The concept of fellowship or communion is deep but i'll try to explain it using the family relationship. You were born into a family. Ideally, you were nurtured by your parents and your siblings were there for you while growing up.
For me, it was fun because we had relatives with us in our growing years. It is impossible to disown your root because you're grown. You bear the name of that family and still relate with them.
The church is God's family that you cannot do without. Going to church is a command that must be obeyed(Heb10:25).
You need a church where the whole counsel of God is taught without compromise. Even If you can pray on your own, you can't teach yourself. You need a Pastor that will teach you and father you spiritually.
You cannot experience the corporate anointing in your room except in the church. Some people will sit at home watching television preachers and they'll say that's enough for them. In times of crisis, maybe you lose a loved one, the t.v.preacher won't bury the dead for you neither will he christen your baby.
Till we see Jesus in glory, we cannot outgrow belonging and identifying with God's family.
If you don't belong to a church, prayerfully choose one and be committed there. If you have a church you attend, be regular and stay committed there.
