LIVE READY FOR HIS COMING
I believe in rapture. Even though this is a huge debate among scholars of the bible about its veracity but I stand to say this is what I believe from scriptures.
The message of rapture and Christ's coming is fast becoming scarce among most charismatics. In a calendar year, some may not hear about the blessed hope of the believers(Titus2:12-13). A preacher once said that there church does not focus on preaching such messages. Then I ask, "how will their members live in readiness of the Lord's coming since they know nothing about it"?
Whether my message is popular or not, I am glad to tell you this morning that Jesus Christ is coming to take His saints home. This is the truth I believe. Christians of old remind themselves of this truth constantly, that in turn affected their choices, behaviour and outlook to life.
The day is coming when the saints of God and the dead in Christ shall suddenly disappear, that phenomenon is called rapture.
1Thess4:16-17 says, "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. [17] Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever".
Only those that are blood-washed will go with the Lord. The earth will shake with the news of sudden disappearance of the saints and that will be the beginning of the end. The anti Christ will emerge and he shall rule the world for a period of seven years. My concern is: are you ready for the coming of Christ?
A man said that we should stop getting ready and start living ready for the coming of Christ. No sinner will rapture with the Lord. The rapture can take place at anytime, it will be good it meets us in the place of readiness.
This year, I want you to live ready because we do not know the hour, timing and the very year. It may happen this year.
Matthew 24:36 says, “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows".
Do not be like men in the days of Noah. They married and gave their daughters in marriage while spurning the message of Noah. They waited for 120 years thinking what Noah was saying was a fallacy. All of a sudden, the rain caught them unawares and they perished.
Be ready to meet the Lord.
Live as though Christ is coming in the next second.
