Proverbs12:24 The hand of the diligent shall exercise rule, but the slothful shall be under tribute.

GOOD ATTITUDE TO WORK

I read about a young man that was recommended for a job interview. When his interviewer asked what his contribution will be to the company, he said he had the anointing of Jacob that can transform the life of Laban. That's funny, isn't it?

I don't think any employer will love to hear that especially unbelievers. It shows how unserious he was. This is a job seeker that was jobless for a period of time now begging to apply. God opened a great door of opportunity for him but he closed it because of misguided zeal.

If truly he had the anointing of Jacob that can transform, why can't he use the same anointing to transform his life to become a CEO instead of looking for job? Think about it.

I am privileged to oversee a few business concerns for my ageing parents anytime i'm not on the mission field. I have seen Christians with bad attitude to work and at work. Most times, they cover this bad attitude with a garb of 'spirituality'.

There was a woman who resumed late to work often. Whenever she's confronted, her excuse was "I attended a vigil". In as much as I am neck-deep in spiritual activities and I encourage it, however, It should not be an excuse for ineffectiveness at work.

Bad work ethic and christian piety don't mix.

Stop threatening your boss at work. Obey the policy of your company as long as you're a staff. They didn't beg you to work, you applied. Do not constitute nuissance in your office because you don't like the policy there. It is better to resign than to cause disharmony among staff. That business/ company is what someone laboured to build for years. If you are not satisfied, resign and go start yours since you have better ideas.

If you are an artisan, quit lying to your clients and deliver quality services. To standout from others, give a guarantee and promise to fix whatever problem may arise under the guaranteed period.

I noticed that most artisans have lost good customers because of lies. Some Christian artisans are not exempted.

My former mechanic collected money to replace the engine seat of my vehicle. When I checked what he did, I discovered he didn't replace the bad engine seat. He used super glue and sand to mend the broken part. He lost me and I can never recommend anyone to him. Some artisans would have turned multi millionaires but little unfaithfulness here, lies and mediocrity in job delivery there limited them.

Assess how you've been working and why you haven't made progress, it could be because of bad attitude. This year, deliver quality services. Work well.

Action point

Ask yourself and probably others about what you can do to improve on your job.
