DO NOT MIX DOGMA WITH GOSPEL

Galatians 1:8 Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News(Gospel) than the one we preached to you.NLT( Emphasis mine).

Years back, I was in a bus where a woman preached. She started with the message of repentance but ended with personal dogma and anti- gospel ideas. In fact, she preached to a point where she said christianity and other faith are one as long as good works is constant. Hey! That's a very dangerous ground to thread.

Ephesians 2:8-9 made it clear that our salvation is by grace through faith not through works. If philanthropy and being nice is the key to being saved, heaven will be full but salvation is in Christ alone. Hallelujah!

The nicest and most generous unbeliever will go to hell because he is not saved through Christ. We are not saved by good works but we are saved to do good works.

She messed the whole thing up when she began to talk about women adornment& hairdo. In fact, that elicited negative reactions from everyone in the bus. If you don't understand the gospel, please don't preach it. Trying to preach the gospel without adequate understanding leads to creation of dangerous errors that can lead people off course.

Jesus spoke about the doctrine of men (Matthew15:9). I have noticed that the doctrine of men is causing confusion all over the place. It is a doctrine that takes the focus of people away from the cross and the finished work of Christ on the cross.

Paul says, "For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified"(1 Cor 2:2).

On the other hand, the doctrine of men is 'Christopagan' in nature. Anywhere you see a mixture of Christian practices and paganism, that's Christopaganism. Whatever we do as a form of ritual or routine as an addition to the name of Jesus Christ brings us close to Christopaganism.

This is common in some prayer houses where they believe in 'prophetic work'.The name of Jesus is enough and is empowered because of Christ's death, burial and resurrection. We need not add to it. If we do not believe God unless we use tokens, we do not believe at all.

Preachers must teach their listeners the content of the gospel message in clear terms so they can communicate it effectively to others.

As a soul-winner, your duty is to present Christ and his finished work to the people. Some are proclaiming the gospel of their denomination and 'papa' not that of Christ. Your invitation to sinners should be to Christ first before inviting them to church. Christ-centred gospel is the authentic gospel.

Action point

Father, I receive grace to present the gospel of Christ to people accurately without mixing it with dogma and heresies In Jesus name.
