1 Thess5:25 Dear brothers and sisters, pray for us.
DEDICATION TO INTERCESSION
In my few years of ministry, I've observed that church folks want their pastors to pray for them always. They put so much prayer burden on their pastors and leaders but they rarely pray for their pastor(s), his family and ministry. Some pastors spend much of their prayer time praying for people who don't know they're being prayed for, they fast and take up prayer burdens while members are sleeping. Personally, I can't count the number of times some persons have asked to know if I'm praying for them. In fact, some have turned their pastors and other genuine ministers to prayer consultants. They may not come to church regularly or be dedicated to the progress of the church but the moment they're in trouble, they'll consult their pastor for prayers.
What we expect from you in this regard is that as we pray for you, you should be praying for us dedicatedly. The time spent gossiping about your pastor, his family and ministry should be converted to prayer time for him. When preachers run into trouble, sometimes they can be very lonely. From afar, people think they are super men who do not have human feelings but deep within, something is eating them up yet they don't have our prayer support as expected. Nothing delights the devil more than seeing God's people pity/gossip about their leaders instead of praying for them.
If you see a preacher flourishing in ministry, there's a strong prayer support base somewhere. Let your pastor, that missionary or christian leader who has impacted your life so much be your priority in the place of prayer. Pray that God should uphold him and make him fulfill his ministry. Pray for his wife to be strengthened to be a suitable help meet and that his children will be a godly model unto others. Pray for the all-round growth of his ministry, his finances and health. No matter how great, prayerful and spiritual your pastor is, he needs your prayers. If apostle Paul could solicit to be prayed for, no minister should be exempted from this holy service of the saints. We should be humble enough to ask for prayers. It is not a sign of weakness.
Pray for me( Oyeleke Olanrewaju Benjamin) as you're led by the Spirit of God.
