2 Cor 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. KJV
UNLEASH YOUR POTENTIAL
Disney productions was launched in 1929 just before the great depression days in America. That period goes down in the history of America as one of the worst economic down times. In 1928, brothers Walt and Roy Disney introduced the world to Mickey Mouse via their short-animated film. These brothers damned the troubling times, they knew that America needed a smile more than ever. They made money by making people facing economic crisis smile. They made money from those who do not have money. Isn't that a paradox? They navigated the depression days and grew their business right inside a national crisis. In 2019, Disney productions was worth $69.6 billion dollars in revenue.
Sometimes, scarcity is an opportunity to unleash our creativity and ingenuity. Who could have thought that making people smile during a national crisis would rake in money? That was what Walt and Roy Disney did. During scarcity, God will not fail to leave us with something we can leverage on to live in plenty. We often ignore the great ideas locked within when in our comfort zones. Hunger is a trigger for creativity sometimes. If you ask successful entrepreneurs, quite a number of them will tell you that crisis fueled their foray into business.
Some years back, I know a woman running a big confectionery in Lagos. Before she started her business, life became hard for her family. Their landlord sent them packing. She and her family moved to an uncompleted apartment. From there, she started making chin-chin. She had great patronage. Her M.Sc holding husband quitted his white collar job to join his wife in chin-chin making business. They ended up building a great company with plenty staff and wide distributorship of their products across Nigeria. Opportunities abound in every scarcity. There's something you can do in exchange for money which you've ignored. There's a passion you have that hasn't been pursued. Do something about it now.
Father, open my eyes to see the opportunities in scarcity and help me to launch out in Jesus name
