DEDICATION TO EVANGELISM&CHURCH GROWTH
I read a book about a heretical movement that knock on 900,000 doors on weekly basis all over the world. They are committed to spreading their heresy to anyone who care to listen. You'll find them at bus stops sharing their booklets, tracts and publications. They're working assiduously to bring souls into their fold. Both old and young among them are committed to this. Though they peddle heresy, their commitment is noteworthy and their church is growing. The adherents of that sect didn't leave the work of soul winning for their pastor. Everyone is involved.
Every pastor is happy when his sheep is committed to soul winning and church growth. In the early church, the work of soul winning was not left for the apostles. All the members of the early church were actively involved in bringing men to the saving knowledge of the risen Christ and ensuring that they are part of the church. Their brand of Christianity didn't create an evangelism unit/ department. Everyone was involved.
Since you gave your life to Christ, how many souls have you won to the Lord? How many people have you brought to the church where you worship? Your pastor cannot grow that church alone. He needs you to be part of the process just as the disciples of Christ found one another: "One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ",
John 1:40-41 KJV. Reading downwards, Philip did the same thing: "Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph", John 1:45 KJV. Go find the unchurched and bring them to church. Ensure those empty chairs are filled, invite someone to church next Sunday.
