Luke 10:19 Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. NLT
THE FORCE OF FAITH
Permit me to illustrate this point using a football match. If your country or favourite club has played an opposing team but you had no time to watch it, however, maybe a friend told you the match ended 3-0 in favour of your team, you wouldn't be anxious if you're to watch a replay of that football match. Even while watching the replay, if your opponent is pressing towards the goal, because of the information at your disposal, you just know the opposing team cannot score. Your faith is rocksolid because you're watching a match that had been decided in your favour. That's faith in expression.
Spiritual warfare is faith warfare. We fight from the standpoint of what we believe Christ has done for us on the cross not in what the arms of flesh has done or can do. A lot of Christians want to fight the devil. To them, spiritual warfare involves a lot on their part but they fail to realize that the real battle has been fought and won on the cross: "And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross", Col 2:15 NIV. Hallelujah!!! The devil is a defeated foe. Christ is not about to defeat the devil, he has been defeated already.
No matter how hard you pray and fast, you cannot outdo what Christ has done on the cross. You'll be scripturally wrong to think of spiritual warfare in terms of trying to do something outside what Christ has done. The major challenge for most believers is how to experience that victory that Christ won on the cross. The victories and benefits of salvation that we read about in the bible seem to some as fairy tale. They often ask why they are still under demonic oppression and caged by the enemy. They become uneasy the moment they hear demons or Satan mentioned. What they hear about the power of God is opposite their daily experience. The answer to this quagmire is in the bible: "For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith", 1 John 5:4 NLT. Faith( in what Christ has done) is the key to experiencing victory. That faith is what gives us the assurance that the battle is won even before we start praying. When we engage in faith warfare, we are not fighting for victory rather, we are fighting from victory. It is like watching the replay of a match that had been won. You don't watch the replay of a football match with fear because it has been decided already.
CONFESSION: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I have the nature of God in me. I've been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of his dear son. I live in light and I'm full of light. Nothing shall by any means hurt me. I take authority over demons troubling my life and I send you parking in Jesus name.
